JEDI supports LabJack T4, T7, and T8 models with built-in Modbus-TCP via its internal data collector. USB-connected LabJacks require an external data collector using the LabJack LJM library. Contact support@machinechat.io for help.
Yes, JEDI supports communication with multiple LabJack devices. For networked LabJacks (T4, T7, T8), JEDI establishes a separate Modbus-TCP connection with each device. When using USB-connected LabJacks, the number of devices that can be accessed simultaneously depends on your computer's overall CPU and I/O capabilities.
JEDI has been tested with 200 sensors sending 10 metrics at 1 Hz, and some users achieve 10 Hz data rates. The host computer's memory, network, and CPU are key factors in determining the achievable data rate. It's crucial to understand that the number of sensors monitored can be much higher than the number of LabJack devices. Each LabJack is a complex device with hundreds of registers and communication overhead (Modbus-TCP or USB). Our customers commonly use 1-10 LabJack devices. LabJack data streaming is not currently supported.
When using Modbus-TCP with LabJack T4, T7, and T8 devices, JEDI allows reading and writing to the vast majority of registers. Please note that Modbus multi-register read/write operations and Modbus coil commands are not supported at this time.
You get full access to JEDI One for 30 days—no credit card required. At the end of the trial, you can purchase a license to keep using it or let it expire. To remove JEDI from your computer, simply delete the folder and the files.

Download the zip file and unzip it to a folder on your computer. Open "Command Prompt" on Windows or "Terminal" on Linux/Mac. Run mcjedi.exe on Windows or mcjedi.bin on Linux/Mac. Open a web browser and enter http://localhost:9123 to connect to JEDI. If JEDI is running on another machine, replace localhost with the IP address of that machine.

A single JEDI license can be activated on only one computer. Licenses cannot be moved or transferred between computers. If you ever replace your computer, please contact us at support@machinechat.io for assistance.
